Jim Taylour

Jim Taylour is a Chartered Ergonomist with more than 35 years of experience across the office and education furniture sectors. Combining a background in furniture design with specialist expertise in ergonomics, workplace wellbeing and human-centred design, Jim has worked with leading organisations including Gordon Russell, Giroflex and Orangebox. 

Recognised as a leading voice in workplace ergonomics, Jim has published extensively on the relationship between physical and psychological wellbeing, workplace design and technology. He currently chairs the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors' Workplace Ergonomics Special Interest Group. He contributes to the development and harmonisation of furniture standards across Europe through the British Standards Institute. 

At Fira-International, Jim supports clients throughout the product development journey, from ergonomic design and assessment to final product evaluation. His areas of expertise include workplace wellbeing, inclusive design, hybrid working environments, collaborative spaces and the ergonomic performance of both contract and domestic furniture products.
