Upcoming flammability training

22 Feb, 2022

Our next cycle of flammability training is now open for bookings. We have sessions tailored for the domestic, contract and bed sectors. Each course supports delegates to understand the relevant regulations, and how to work to compliance. Delegate numbers are capped per session to ensure that questions can be asked which relate to your organisation and specific products.

Courses are hosted by Steve Cotton, Technical Specialist - Flammability and Physical Upholstery. Steve joined FIRA International in 1999 and has a wealth of knowledge of all the UK flammability regulations and tests. He regularly hosts webinars and advises clients on what tests are required for compliance, and where necessary gives indications as to why tests may have failed.

Our flammability courses include:

Understanding the domestic furniture regulations and working to compliance

  • An understanding of the domestic furniture regulations, with a strong focus on the Furniture & Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988. Failure to comply with the FFFSR can lead to prosecution, so it’s key you understand your obligations.

Flammability requirements for beds and mattresses, across the domestic and commercial sectors

  • The different requirements, ensuring you’re clear on working towards compliance, using the correct labels and demonstrating due diligence.

Understanding flammability requirements for the contract and office sector

  • Helping you navigate the complexities which surround office and contract furniture, so you understand your obligations to ensure compliance.
